Join the REC as we interview The Walker Foundation which hosts many different hair care events and services for children of color. Specifically, the annual Hairitage Event is happening in Wyandotte County at the Kansas City Kansas Community College Technical Center on Sunday, June 23rd from 10a.m.-4p.m. for foster and adoptive children to receive free hair care services. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Disrupting and Dismantling Racial Inequities in Child Welfare is an interactive theater event which will be used as a creative professional development tool for professions working in and around the child welfare system. Join us on Wednesday, April 24th from 9-4p.m. as we engage in theatrical performances procured through the talented playwright, Darren Canady and engage with the Racial Equity Collaborative in a meaningful and thoughtful experience.

The Racial Equity Collaborative brings people together to actively eliminate racial disparities in child welfare. This roundtable is a snapshot of lawmakers, the legal community, educators, and administrators clearly understanding the problem of Black and Brown children being overly involved in the child welfare system and connecting on ways to answer the question "from where I sit, how can I impact racial equity?"
